Sky Watch from my School Window!

The whole purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows.
~Sydney J. Harris

What if man were required to educate his children without the help of talking animals.

I like a teacher who gives you something to take home to think about besides homework.

Happy New School Year to all of us in

  3. I am a children's book nut--I ordered "I'm In Charge of Celebrations" just last week and received it yesterday. I read it out loud to myself as I had done so many times to my former students.

Byrd Baylor is the author--an incredible picture book about the desert--

There weren't any talking animals in it but yes, how would we educate without those.

And speaking of Charlotte's Web--there is a gal on line who has a blog entitled "Charlotte's Web Log. I'm finding that not everyone knows that "blog" came from the last four letters of web log. I think that is the cutest name for a blog.

Love your window and I bet your precious students do also. Have a great year.

    Love,
    D.

  17. Maria Maria you always make me so happy with your comments on my blog.
Yes I did that too ! Was a mom at home and enjoyed every minute of it , all of it . My first one was born in 1979 . No computer and no blogging for me in that time.
I enjoyed to see them grow and discouver the world and being individuals , After my son Valentijn there was Anna in 1981 and Elisabeth in 1983 and Thomas in 1987 . I also worked parttime at first when there was a teacher ill . When my husband left me ( unexpected !) and did not pay me and the children a dime ! I went to work full time . Was not easy in the beginning but working at school means same holidays and so on ..... So we managed and they became wonderful persons and I feel very rich and blessed .
I also loved the contact with the other moms ( some of them ! ) and sharing lots and lots of tea talking about LIFE .
Now we can Blog and enjoy new friends . Like you are to me .
    Have a peaceful weekend .
