Hello!
Just stopping by my little blog to show you some of the
work we've been doing and the progress we've made.
~
Amanda's old room went from "teen dream"
to "woodland white."
{a Benjamin Moore color}
My sewing room went from "industrial"
{no before photo, but imagine three base cabinets with a countertop that went the width of the room
and a twin bed on the other side with a tray-table night stand}
and a twin bed on the other side with a tray-table night stand}
...to a sweet and cottage*y place to dream and sew...
I searched this spring for vintage dressers and really enjoyed the transformation process!
I'll post my before and afters soon.
We've been cleaning out closets and sorting through lots of things that belong to our children.
It brought back memories to find things like
Pokeman cards {Jason's closet}
and NSYNC concert photos {girls' closet}!
Yes, deep cleaning, fresh paint and organizing was long overdue!
I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel...
We will be painting the hallway and stairwell next week.
Amanda has long been on her own and is now enjoying some sparkling times of her own!
{Taken by Amanda earlier this week in Cape Sebastian, Oregon}
~
It is nice "to be back" in blogland this morning!
~ I'll be visiting you all soon ~
God bless you always,
Wishing you much summer JOY!
{Enjoy more summertime joys at Sky Watch Friday!}
Yes, it is fun and a lot of work to transform those rooms as they go off to make their own life. It all looks so pretty, you have a nice touch in all that you do Maria! :)
ReplyDeleteMARIA MY DEAR! Oh, we are on the same wave length here! My summer so far started out SO CALM and I created A LOT. Then early last week, we attacked my studio, in the heat wave. It took a week to prep the walls for they had two layers of old wall paper and PAINT! A steamer and spatulas did the trick. THIS WEEK has been spent painting the walls and sanding and prepping the doors...the builders are out back building a covered deck and ON MONDAY, I have a guest that is staying all week! THEN I have a wonderful visit planned in August with a cousin....oh my goodness, I am so glad I will only be returning as a substitute in September! NO PLANNING except for one meeting for new subs.
ReplyDeleteYOu are reminding me that I too have many closets to clean! Oh it never ends! I have to get upstairs and clean my bedroom...teeehee...we are busy!
Well dearest, your new sewing area is charming and white, like my studio. Such peace and calm we seek, n'est-ce pas?
I wish you success on all of your plans to organize and to have SOME TIME this summer to sit back and enjoy it all! BISOUS, Anita
Oh Maria, you are busy!! I was "hoping" to get into my girls' room today to go through some things, but it is a daunting task:-) You have inspired me, though!

Great photos! Your room makeovers are lovely. The ocean shot is so refreshing!
ReplyDeleteOh that water looks so inviting, the colors are gorgeous. I can't wait to see your transformation Maria. I bet it will be beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI'm doing the same thing you are in my upstairs apartment. It's gonna take awhile but I am seeing a bit of progress. Getting rid of lots of never worn clothes!!
Love Di ♥
Great watery scene.

Calm, cool, inviting....How "free" you must be feeling as you organize and refresh your home!
ReplyDeleteSo so beautiful, love all you've done.
ReplyDeleteThis is all so lovely my friend...what a beautiful room and I spy your little sewing machine ready to be used. It is nice to have some space of your own. My dream is to make me up some space in our basement...we have ooodles of light down there so it would make a good place for a studio...one of my summer dreams..which may end up being just a dream depending on my energy level. I had planned to do many things this week once we got back from my parents home but ended up with the flu bug...grrrrrrr...so that set me back a few days..but feeling much better today. Sending you ooooodles of energy to get that hallway done of yours...oh I love painting...really one of my favourite things to do! Wish I was your neighbour I would come help...xoxooxox Hugs and love to you
ReplyDeleteBeautifully captured sky!

ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy your day today...I am working on reshooting some Christmas surprises for our friend Matthew Mead....so thinking Christmas once again..I thought I was all done..it was Christmas in JUNE at our home..but I need to redo my Ice Cream recipe I share...needs to be Brighter..blends into my background!! Never a dull moment here that is for sure.
