"I count myself lucky, having long ago won a lottery paid to me in seven sunrises a week for life."
- Robert Brault
This beautiful quote
{and so ingeniously clever as always with Robert Brault}
reminded me of what my father so often says...
"When I open my eyes each morning, I thank God for the gift of another day."
Dad will be 88 next month!
~
... to start each day with gratitude...
this is how we grow
JOY
Maria, Jason's photo really caught my attention! Fabulous silhouette. My Mother gave thanks for each new day, and I try to follow her example. Thankfulness gives a positive start to the day regardless of my responsibilities or what I must face. I know you're preparing for a new school year. Some of my Grands have already started and call me with happiness in their voices, telling me about their new teachers. I know the children you teach will also meet you with anticipation and joy. Good Luck as you begin a new school year. PS Happy Birthday to your father. Bob's father just flew to visit us - he's 89.
ReplyDeleteMARIA MY DEAR!!!! How are you?
ReplyDeleteI so understand this sentiment here; I often thank GOD for the fact that He thought of bringing me into existence, for giving me a soul and for all that I have. What a beautiful message for the day!
Are you getting ready for returning to school? Ruben already started retreats and meetings this week and his classes start next week! I on the other hand only have to think about subbing....YEAH!
Have a glorious day and happy birthday to your father! Anita

ReplyDeleteDearest Maria,
ReplyDeleteIt is SO GOOD TO SEE YOUR COMMENT !!! This has got to be one of the busiest summers for many of us, and to think that school is starting. I go in next week for a new substitutes meeting and I understand that my former colleagues are already in their classrooms preparing. It feels GOOD to not have to plan.
I wish you peace, strength and joy as you start a new year. There are so many changes ahead for everyone and may you have what I was not able to muster up: THE STRENGTH to keep up with all the change. BLESSINGS TO YOU MY DEAR, Anita

ReplyDeleteI am thankful for each day that God gives and thankful for our God of Peace. xoxoxo Hugs to you for a blessed Sunday. After church we are taking my 2 wheel "Maria" out for a family ride around the lovely Stanley park in Vancouver. It will be a great day with lots to be thankful for. xoxoxoxooxxoxo
Thanks for your visit...yes, this is so true and like the quote on your side bar, it's the little things that we remember to thank God for that keep us in the mode of gratitude. Loved your post below too, beautiful place and times! :D
ReplyDeleteMy dear Maria,
ReplyDeleteI want to wish you, along here with our dear Koralee, the best of a new school year! Do you start tomorrow? My district does too, but you know I will not be returning full-time. Rather, I go in Thursday for a new substitutes orientation.
WIshing you well! Anita
