Lasting Legacies

Roots and Wings

I learned sweet lessons from the robins that built this nest the spring of '09.
God teaches us in tender ways ~ I thank Him for gentle lessons.

There is always a moment in childhood when the door opens and lets the future in.

Entering into it with

roots
{faith, family and love}
 and
soaring with wings
{gifts of the Spirit, courage and freedom}

Wishing you all a week of joy and springtime sweetness.
Love,
Maria

  2. First of all I have many willow tree figures, but have never seen the one with the birds....I must look for one for my collection.

    The movie is just breathtaking! Thanks for sharing your beauty with the camera, and God's beauty with His creation...the Robin!

  5. Roots and Wings...love that and it is something I so believe in. We have to give our children the precious roots and then their wings..raise them to go and not hang on to us..such a good plan, I think God did it for us too. :D

  6. You were most likely thinking of Jason when writing this beautiful, beautiful post, dearest Maria. Your words are always so perfectly chosen and strong. I love gifts of the Spirit.
    Lately I am probably a bit too concerned about my 6 year old Bresten. He soaks in everything, just everything. Difficult to explain in English, but let's say your words come in the right time.
    I am really happy to have 'met' you, dearest sweet Maria. You inspire me a lot.
    Much love always xxxx

  9. What a wonderful video of the robin "raising" the fledglings. I loved seeing the young bird hopping into the window box! You had a ringside seat, Maria!

  10. Great post Maria. I feel like the parent in the tree watching the young one trying out his wings. We're in Memphis now. Jason is chatting with someone from Texas. His wings are flapping. He's getting more and more excited the closer we get. A beautiful sunset this evening in TN after heavy thunderstorms. He loved it all. I'll soon be flying home, and he'll be flying into lifes adventures.
    Well done partner and friend or should I say pardner ... ~Chris

  12. It's truly magical watching the beautiful cycles of nature. You did a beautiful job with the video, Maria, and I'm sure you did an even more amazing job with your own little bird so that he can fly high and be ready to face anything life has to offer. My bird flew off her nest 5 years ago, and it was the hardest thing that I had to go through, but the outcome is priceless!! (((Hugs)))
