90 degree weather
+ high humidity

thunderstorms and skies to watch.
Mammatus!
They are not the ordinary clouds that we see in our very usualnortheast weather.
Our camera did not capture just how low and water laden they were.
You know it just poured.
The lightening was amazing too......electric curls spiraled through the mammatus cloud balloons.
{thank you, Chris, for running out to take these photos}
It will be over 90 degrees in my second floor classroom today.
It's a good day to 'be still.'
I'm so glad that we have several days in the 70's coming our way!
...perfect for baking strawberry shortcake biscuits...
There are more amazing sights to see at
Hi, Maria! Are you still in school? When does your school year end? We are on our 12th or 14th day of mid- to upper 90s down here with very high humidity---and NO rain. Even for the sunny south, this is hot! More like August weather. So very thankful for air conditioning. :) I'm supposedly on summer vacation, but my first week off has been so busy, you'd never know it. Speaking of busy, I hear my little LE waking up. Time for breakfast!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy a lovely day......happy weekend.....love Ria...xxx..
ReplyDeleteThese clouds look amazing! We ad huge thunderstorms here too - and so much rain! Hope the weekend will be sunny though! Have fun baking ;) xx
ReplyDeleteJust when I think I have seen it all, Mother Nature shows some new tricks...and it is always so awesome! ;D
ReplyDeleteOh Maria...our hot weather has not come yet! I am sure it will...enjoy your cooler weather..it is really impossible to work in that heat! Your images are beautiful though...and I do hope you make your SS biscuits..they do sound yummy. oxxo
ReplyDeleteHugs
Can't believe Sunny CA is still overcast today, I'm tired of trouser socks and boots, I want my sandals....and a new pedicure.
ReplyDeleteLovely sky watch today, Maria.
Now I know what they're called. Thanks for teaching me somthing new. Beautiful pictures.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great word!
ReplyDeleteStrawberry Shortcake, I thought of that cute pink doll instantly. Celeste adores her. But I prefer strawberry shortcake biscuits more. Happy baking sweet friend.
ReplyDeleteEspecially your first picture is amazing!
Hang in there Maria, cooler weather is on it's way. I can imagine the warmth and humidity you must be feeling on the second floor, do you have many students in your class? Sending a cool breeze to all of you anyways
You will probably me traveling home in an hour or so... Have a safe trip home sweet home my friend o xx o
Through other bloggers we have the opportunity to learn new and see new things, and those are some pretty but odd clouds, hope the weather fares nicely for you to get out and enjoy the sunshine

Mammatus clouds? How cool! We sure have had some wild weather this year.
ReplyDeleteWow...mammatus. They are great, love the light in the last shot.
ReplyDeleteso early in the season to have 90 degrees. but what cloudscapes you have.
ReplyDeleteMy sky is here
Such beautiful interesting skies. Great shots
ReplyDeleteit's been a spring of very wild weather here in the Midwest. our string of 3 consecutive 95 degree days ended with thunderstorms last evening. today it's 48. I suspect that is headed your way. I've learned something about the naming of clouds here today, so thank you for that. and thank you for sharing your most lovely skies filled with Mammatus! happy SWF.
ReplyDeletenice shots
ReplyDeleteMy Skywatch Friday
These are awesome! I live in Central Oregon and have only seen these kind once before. Great job on capturing these shots.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend,
Kathy M.
wonderful shots!
ReplyDeletewow mom =) close to how my skies look...we got ridiculous thunderstorms!!! it was pretty sweet =)
ReplyDeleteNice
ReplyDeleteI learned a new name today thanks to you, Maria! That first picture is beautiful! I Hope the weather will be cooler for your strawberry shortcake baking!
ReplyDeleteThey look like soft cotton puffs - not scary storm clouds. Our schools here in CO are mostly over for the summer (except year-round). I hope your days are numbered in the classroom if it's getting so hot and humid. Must be difficult to both teach and learn. (Now my mind is on that biscuit shortcake you're promising, Maria.)
ReplyDeleteMARIA!!!! We had 103 the other day, but yesterday it was 65!!! We are having some crazy weather, indeed! TODAY IS MY LAST DAY OF SCHOOL! How about you??? LOVE TO YOU, Anita
ReplyDeleteVery nicely captured.
ReplyDeleteThose are lovely cloud photos, Maria. A gentle thunderstorm just rolled through here this morning, which has brought a little cooler weather our way too!
ReplyDeleteMmmm, yum, can I drop in for some of those biscuits?
ReplyDeleteYep, perfect bosom clouds, rare, but you got them.
Enjoy summer my friend.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend.
Regards.
xo
Hope your weekend is full of joy with your loved-ones .
ReplyDeleteIs your father doing well ?
Did you read what Anita wrote ?
Beautiful words ... teaching is a blessing ! Happy weekend my friend
Hi Maria, just saying hello really, your skies look wonderful, anyhow nicer than our shade of grey over here; been cool recently, as if summer came and went already. OK, will not be pessimistic, but today I wore a summer dress to church, and was mighty cold, sneezed a few times. Never mind, had a nice cuppa after service. Wishing you a lovely week ahead and all the very best, love and hugs, Lori xxx
