Our cherished gift that you protect with with your lives
F*R*E*E*D*O*M
We thank you.*
God Bless You.
As I say the pledge with my students every morning,
I pray for all our soldiers
...those of family and friends...
...of friends here in blogland too...
I pray for their safety
and in gratitude
for the sacrifices they make
to defend freedom.
Love,
Maria
Thank you Sky Watch Team!
Yes, and Amen. Both of my parents were in the army serving our country, as well as my father-in-law. I am proud to be the daughter of two veterans. Wish they were here to give 'em a big hug and kiss....
ReplyDeleteGod bless them!
ReplyDeleteI remember saying the pledge every morning as a child in school, loved that. I didn't know it was still allowed in schools..awesome. I am so thankful for my good husband who served in Viet Nam and all those who are willing to defend our country! :D
ReplyDeleteA nice remembrance, Maria - I also have some young friends serving now. And - my Father-in-law (87) served in WWII.

ReplyDeleteOur weekend has already started, we are in the country again {Friday afternoon we leave Rotterdam to spend the weekend in the country, Sunday afternoon we drive back to Rotterdam to start to school and working week; it's a half hour drive by car}. Anyway, it's so so sooooo windy almost stormy today. The wind blows very strongly in the fields and I'm keeping my little ones inside this afternoon. We are playing shuffle-board. Think I will make it a tradition on Christmas day ;)
Keep yourself and your gorgeous family warm and cozy, sweet Maria. Much love xxxxxx

Oh dear heart,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful tribute to those brave souls that give of themselves, so that we might enjoy freedom...
We all to often, take this life style for granted, and it is not until this privilege is threatened that we give it a thought...one day, does not seem enough, for this gift.
Your blog just gets prettier and prettier. It is so beautiful my dear friend.
Thank you sweet Maria for your visit to my kitchen...I have since made those crispy little Earl Grey cookies in a snowflake as well...(with icing sugar to be sure ;D)...Oh yes, I used a regular "Twinings" tea bag. One per recipe seemed to be quite perfect. I also doubled the orange zest, for a bit more ZIP.
Well my dear this has been such a lovely cuppa indeed...I will bid you farewell, as it is time for me to put a bit of supper on the stove...have a WONDERfilled week...
..........xoxoxo.....Rosie.....
Amen and thank you!
