Pretty Amazing Roo

 I have had the
JOY
of meeting such
beautiful people here in blogland.

One of them is Ruth.

This summer, Ruth hosted a huge garage sale that raised money for women in need.
She wrote:
"We are trying to raise money to purchase items
needed to make "layette packs" for families in the
surrounding area that have little to no support.
And sometimes nothing much to give their child.

It broke my heart when someone told me how
some women come home from the hospital without
so much as a blanket for their baby. It's a different
world than the one I live in. How about you?"

Here is her "I have a Dream" post.

The sale was a great success and she was able to assemble a dozen layettes for the truly needy.
Read all about it here!
These are no ordinary layettes.
They are packed with sweet things, many necessities and lots of love!
Here's what's inside!

A few weeks ago, Ruth inspired her friends, family and greater community
to deliver more hope to women in need.  She was able to assemble 12 more layettes!
* Amazing *

Amazing to see the Spirit moving among us.
Stop over to "it's true, sighed roo"
and say hi!

She's a pretty awesome person!

God bless you, Ruth!

  6. Oh Maria!! How amazing!! And what a great idea! A church down the street from us has a baby food pantry, then we do "free markets" but we have never specifically targeted a group like this. I will definitely take this idea to a staff meeting!! Thank you for posting!!!

  9. What an awesome idea Ruth had. I am sure that many new moms will be thrilled to have the new layettes!
After Katie grew out of her baby furniture, we gave it to a local young couple that had no baby furniture for their new baby. What a great feeling it was when they came to pick it up. You could clearly see that they needed it desperately.
Ruth went way beyond that. It's wonderful! Love Di ♥

  10. Oh Maria,
We are so very blessed, and for most part, I take this for granted. It is when we read about special people such as Ruth, that it is brought to the fore front.
I am so very touched by this generous gesture...
    Ruth is an angel.

How is school going sweet one?
Are your little chicks settling in? What grade level do you inspire and mold. I am sure you have an apple on the corner of your desk each and every day.

How is your dad doing on his own? Is he home from your brother yet?
I'm sure he is enjoying his independence once again.
Have a REST filled weekend dearest. Sending you a Hug...love Rosie
