Sky Watch Friday *5-29-09* Is the Sky Half Empty or Half Full?

Hmmm... Is the sky half empty?
... or ... half full?

I had my camera in the car again this week...
saw this front plowing through the sky and the
incredible sun rays and did a quick (but safe, Amanda!) U-turn
down a country road to snap the shot!

Enjoy more sky watchers.

How can God use A Cracked-Pot Like Me?

Imagine a cracked flower pot.
...broken into pieces
Now, imagine "the Potter" putting the pieces together
...delicately, carefully creating wholeness.
The Potter's Presence radiating from within...

Through what does this radiance shine?

Through the cracks.
Through the broken places.

God heals broken places.

And lets His Light shine to comfort others.

God could use a cracked-pot like me.
~ Comfort others with the comfort God has given. ~

* * *
When I was about to throw away the first little flower pot,
I thought of this metaphor that Patsy Clairmont used years and years ago.
Then I thought that God could use this little cracked pot to
recreate Patsy's story.

Thank you, Patsy Clairmont, for your gracious giving of God's gifts
of teaching and humor.

No pots were harmed during the making of this post.
Pots were already broken by husband and daughter ;D

Love and Passion in your 80's

At a lovely wedding reception yesterday, My husband was asked to help the bride's father out of his wheelchair.
Chris, in the light gray suit, and friend, Jim, kindly obliged.

He wanted to be able to stand so that he could

Sky Watch Friday *5-22-09* Refreshment Waits

After a full day at work today
I had a wonderful get-together with family.
Then, ended up in rush-hour traffic under the hot sun,
with broken air-conditioning!
~Thick Traffic ~
But I know that clearer skies and
cooler, fresher air are only a few miles away!
Ahhhhhhhhh~Home is waiting just around the bend~

Remembering Colonial Days

Today we brought Colonial Williamsburg to our school.A colonial woman's day was different from mine.

Music was not recorded.
Wants were Needs

There were a few wants.
There was still war.

Helping Those Who Choose Life

During the month of May our church holds a Baby Shower ...It's organized like the "Giving Tree" at Christmas time.
Tags are written with the needs of mothers-to-be.
The baby bassinet is filled to the top after each service.

Emptied;
and then, filled again.
I think it's one of the sweetest things we do all year.
Helping women choose life.

"Silver Lining"---A SkyWatch Video *5-15-09*

This weekend we had an early season thunderstorm...
As it started to pour, I ran out front with my camera.

The view in front of my eyes was so sweet...
thick clouds ~ emptying themselves.
trees ~ soaking up all the moisture
sky ~ emerging ... teasing us for a sunny day

blooms ~ with raindrops that sparkled
I snapped several photos and took a short one minute video of the cloudburst.

Many Blessings for a wonderful week ahead!
ps. It's raining again here... after a glorious week~

What kind of brew are you?

Mmmm ... just getting home from work means either stopping at my
favorite coffee spot (Dunkin' donuts) or brewing some up myself at home!

Thanks, Amanda, for the HUGE mug.
...It's perfect for ...

My ultimate favorite coffee is from Dunkin' Donuts.
We get the whole bean in a 5 lb bag right from www.Dunkindonuts.com.
I add a few flavored coffees to the order... The price with shipping is still
lower than buying it at the store.
We have a grinder with our coffee maker, so the whole bean is so nice and fresh!
135 cups ... you know that means 10 mugs ; )

Below, dressed in a plain brown bag, is one of the best Amaretto coffees I've ever had.
It really tastes like there are two shots of Amaretto in it!
This comes from Adam's Fairacre Farms... they'll ship
right to your door and take off $2 a pound if you order 5 lbs or more!

We ordered decaf, since it's more of a dessert coffee...

These are my daytime flavors... more Dunkin' Donuts coffees!

I'll go to Starbucks for the comfy chairs, BUT their coffee is so strong and bitter.
... it really depends on the blend and how it's made.

My daughter's fiancé worked there as manager when he was going to school and knew how to blend the coffee for Dunkin' Donuts drinkers...

What kind of brew are you?
