Quench your thirst

Afternoon tea ~ icy and minty
...with juicy watermelon slices...
to quench your thirst.

Did you know that watermelon is a berry?
{called a pepo}
and - it's a powerhouse!
{over 90% water, only 45 calories per cup
vitamins A, C and disease-fighting lycopene}

It was so much F U N to eat this treat
on Father's Day afternoon
with my Dad.
It's one of his favorite summer treats.
He is visiting us
and his feet were up all weekend...
...enjoying strawberry shortcake, watermelon,
sunshine
and most importantly
family.

Did all the dads in your family have a refreshing weekend too?

Wishing all of you a wonderfully refreshing week!

    Little Eva is bringing so much joy and we are all so blessed with her.
    I think it's a great gift of life to be a grandmother and be able to enjoy all the sweetness of a new born all over again ......
    Have a beautiful blue-sky week dear friend !

  3. Maria dearest, THIS IS SUCH A GREAT IDEA....ICY MINT TEA?????? That sounds good just about now! The temps here are stable, but rain, rain, and MORE RAIN, but I can always use a refresher! AND YOUR COMMENT TO ME about my writing dearest.....SO INSPIRING AND HELPFUL and specific. FULL-CIRCLE...yes, that was MY INTENTION. I want to take my writing to new heights and the only way to do that is to practice specific techniques and of course, free inspiration and expression are always important, but I have operated on that for too long. I am happy that you noticed that detail of the story making a full circle. MERCI MON AMIE and wow, your school goes on pretty late compared to ours....you must start later than us, in MID=SEPTEMBER?

    HAVE A GREAT WEEK OF FINISHING UP!!!! Anita

  4. Well our Father's Day won't be until next weekend when Jake gets home. Have you ever made watermelon ice? It's a great way to use up any watermelon that doesn't get used. If interested in the recipe just email me. Glad you had a sweet weekend Maria!! Love Di ♥
