Sky Watch at Indian Lake, Adirondack Mts. New York

We need to sing with all the voices of the mountains
~
We need to paint with all the colors of the wind

Can you paint

Photobucket

with all the colors
Photobucket

of the wind?

Come run the hidden pine trails of the forest

Photobucket

Come taste the sunsweet berries of the Earth

Photobucket

Come roll in all the riches all around you
And for once, never wonder what they're worth

Photobucket

The rainstorm and the river are my brothers
The heron and the otter are my friends

Photobucket

And we are all connected to each other

In a circle, in a hoop that never ends . . .

~ I imagine Our Creator to be in the center of this circle ~
and
my heart is filled with gratitude

Every August
my husband and son camp at Indian Lake in the Adirondack Mts.
The main event is the Perseids Meteor Shower.
This year, skies were cloudy during the day creating spectacular sunrises and sunsets
and super clear at night to see the meteorites!
Neither Chris nor Jason had a watch or cellphone.
All elements of time were left in the car.
They loved this!
and
They love having this time together.

  5. Oh Maria...this is my favourite song...I always get a little emotional when I hear it..I could watch Pocahontas over and over and over again.
Your images are so so beautiful..you alway inspire me! Thank you for this today...just what I needed..I am feeling lonely as my Sydney went to her friends cabin for 5 days and like a mom I worry about her!
But the good news is my hubby and I are now going camping for a few days all by ourselves..this has not happened for 20 years! Everything comes full circle. I don't know whether to be happy or sad about that.

Hugs to you and your sweet family..hope your dad is doing well! What does he like to do? My mom and dad are sooooo into puzzles it's crazy they always have one on the go.

    xoxoxoxo love you!

I stood outside in the middle of the night searching the sky for meteors - to no avail. Did they get any meteor pictures?

  35. You captured your trip in lovely photos. When my husband's mother still lived in New York we took her to an old fashioned resort in the Adirondack Mountains. It reminded me of the one in Dirty Dancing. We were just laughing about it this week during our kayak trip. For decades they served the same thing on a weekly menu. People at our table loved the fact that every Monday was meatloaf, Tuesday was turkey, etc. I just couldn't live like that. Give me a good camp under the stars. - Margy

Just popped by to wish you a merry happy lovely Sunday. I hope everything is fine with your Dad and you will all together share sweet moments.
We are having lovely weather today, lots of sunshine. So we will be outside, swinging, running, tumbling backwards and forwards, flower picking, eating outside. We should enJOY these last days of Summer to the max, shouldn't we?
Lots of hugs, sweet Maria xxxxx

  42. Sweet very sweet Maria , I don't know if I can find the words to tell how you touch me by being you . How do I know you by reading and looking at your blog . The pictures ... the words you choose ... bringing them together but also telling in those about your life , what makes you happy , what touches you .... the magical mix of all of that ....traveling on a mysterious way to my laptop overhere in Holland .
No words te express the wonder of all that ....
Thinking of you , sitting with your father ......
and I listen to Pocahontas singing the song on youtube .....
Thank you sweet Maria . You inspire me and I am so thankfull I met you . Hope we can be friends forever ! Liefs
