A night owl kind of night.

Little light's on.
Tea kettle's whistling.
Setting the oven timer for 20 minutes more.

Baking and Baking

...one of my favorite summer recipes...
I can't make enough of it!
There's soooo much rhubarb in the garden!
I've made cake, pie, microwave rhubarb and dumplings, crisp!
Do you any other ideas for me?

Chris' cousin is coming
from England!
Chris' dad and his friend Ann are coming too!
Amanda's coming home :o)
Lots of family time to enjoy!

It's Deep Summer.

Ripe summer's queen
The hey-day of the year
With robes that gleam with sunny sheen
Sweet August doth appear."

  5. Your baking looks incredible! I am going home this evening to make even more Pesto. The basil plants in our garden are falling over and I'm afraid if I don't do it today I'll miss the opportunity to take advantage of summer's last basil.

Thank you for all that you share - your blog is a blessing to me each and every day!

  7. I've never cared for rhubarb, so I'm not much help except to say my mom always made strawberry-rhubarb pie and most of the family loved it. I don't have the recipe, but if you're interested I can try to get it from her, if she still has it.

Hope you have a great time with your family visiting Maria!

  10. My idea is for you to move close to me so I could drop in for a little treat now and then. I'm having company, too - we spent the day getting respectable (a big job after the Grands leave...)!

  12. I don't "do" rhubarb. I don't cook it and rarely eat it. I have to say that your baked goods look better than any rhubarb dishes that I've been offered! Have a great time with your houseful!

  13. I have been longing to try rhubarb this summer. I haven't tried it since I was a child;hated it then. You have given me the inspiration to close my eyes and open my mouth once again. Good luck with your company.
