finding some color in Winter

a red and polka-dotted  little visitor on my yellow primrose

rainbow cake made by Amanda

some  rainbow M and M's on my brownies

pink flowers on my counter

and some pink sprinkles there too!

getting ready for the colors of February!
{thank you Doreen @ Fancy That!}

I love these quotes about color written by Georgia O'Keeffe.
{American artist}
"I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn't say any other way--things I had no words for."
"So I said to myself, I'll paint what I see-what the flower is to me but I'll paint it big and they will be surprised into taking the time to look at it-I will make even busy New Yorkers take time to see what I see of flowers."

In the heart of winter, it's lovely to bring home some colors of the rainbow!

  2. Yes it is a great idea Maria. Just the night before last I went through all of my garden photos (there's a lot) and it was so calming and beautiful. On the other hand it made me a bit anxious for spring, but winter is a good time to plan for all of the new colors and beauty soon to come! Love Di ♥

  3. Good Saturday morning, dearest Maria. I like your cheery rainbow post a lot. Amanda's cake is awesome! Wish I was that handy too :) Do you know the song by Vicky Brown, look for me in Rainbows? It's a beautiful one.
    Fresh green is popping up in my garden and we are forecast with a whole week of frost. Must take good care of the young ones coming out too early :)
    Have a wonderful weekend, Maria!
    Your sugar pearls are darling! The colors of February.. I like that <3

  4. Oh dear friend,

    I LOVE YOUR PHILOSOPHY of a first impression. It is so true. I am sitting here, seeing great progress in some, and very little effort in others. I have told them that they will get back in a grade in conjunction with what they give me. WOOOO are my eyes tired! THANK YOU for coming with YOUR sunshine to visit me. I am worried because someone had told me that they cannot enter my site because of a virus warning that pops up! I see you had no trouble, or did you???

    LOVE and GRACE to you my precious friend AND colleague! Anita

    Oh I am almost done with my grading but then on Monday, I have to average out 52 childrens' spelling scores...about 20 scores EACH CHILD! Ahhhhh, what was I NOT THINKING last week!?

    MY SINCEREST WISHES to you dear friend for a fine day of listening to our feathered friends. Anita

  13. Lovely colors and shades of pink, Maria.

    After Christmas, I enjoyed the splashes of red so much, I kept some in the kitchen. Red flowers in a white vase, red candles, towels, and now some hearts for Feb.

    I even put red and white in the Bathroom...I'm on a roll...haha.
