What a Week!
What a Winter!
As I sat in my classroom, I had no idea just how bad it was getting out there. We did not close early, so I thought it shouldn't be too bad driving home... Not!
It was actually one of the worst commutes I have ever had.
I was slip-sliding on straight roads and was dreading all the windy hills. On one of the hills, my car had no traction.
It was so bad that I actually drove in reverse all the way back
down the hill and decided to take a much longer route home.
The back roads are the last to be plowed, so I stayed on state highways as much as possible.
My 15 minute commute turned into an hour.
Knowing I had a long way to go, I pulled over to compose myself, said a prayer, and called my husband.
I don't think I went faster than 20mph for most of the way home.
Pulling in the garage felt like a

I am glad you made it home. I have had a few harrowing commutes myself. Here in Oklahoma, we are cold and no snow or ice, yet.
ReplyDeleteI've been hearing about the "bomb cyclone" on the news... scary stuff!! Stay safe and warm, and glad you were able to make it home without incident.
ReplyDeleteThank God you made it home okay. In this kind of weather you must be very careful and prayer helps a lot. God bless and protect you throughout the storms.
ReplyDeleteScary! Take care!
ReplyDeleteYikes. They should have closed early.
ReplyDeleteI grew up and lived in California until I was 55. I'm afraid to go out and drive in the snow or ice now that I live up north. - Margy
