A Wonderful Day to Enjoy!

Then I shoveled the 3' barricade the town plow left at the end of my driveway.

  1. Sounds like you enjoyed your snow day Maria...it was snowing a little here this morning, but now the sun is shinning, although it's still very cold. I just had a "frothy" coffee and a soft date nut cookie. So far we've just had dustings of snow with extremely high winds.

    Enjoy the season!

  2. Even with all of the snowy pictures, mom, your words make me feel warm and cozy inside! What a great job dad did braving the weather to plow out the driveway! Whenever we have a snow day I always hear Don Weeks' morning show say "No School... YAY!" =) LOL

  3. Ah, brings back memories of growing up in Cleveland! I remember those snow piles in the driveways. They used to plow the sidewalks too, and I would walk to school with 3' walls of snow on either side of me! Hope you had a great day!

  4. I loved it when my kids were in school and there was a snow day! We'd go back to sleep...make a big breakfast...fun and games!

  5. I love it when there's not school. Shoveling the barricade might put a sight damper on that however! Hope you got a nice quiet time with your tea!

  7. I do remember those snow days Maria. I especially remember how we watched for snow when we were little- praying there would be enough to close the schools. Then we would bundle up, grab the sleds and spend a good part of the day outdoors.
It sort of lost its charm when I was an adult and had to try to drive around in it or shovel it - as you've had to do.
It does look beautiful though. Your pictures are lovely.

  8. Oh Maria....I long for a snow day. You lucky girl you. We may get one once a year if we are lucky...our school is always one of the last ones to close down for some reason...the public school can be closed and our private Christian school tends to stay open. They are calling for snow this weekend..so we will see. Enjoy your winter wonderland. xoxoox Your images are so pretty.

  9. Yea, I am envious too. Since we moved back to Arkansas 5 years ago, I have seen one snow--Tulsa had quite a few more--sometimes several in one winter. Beautiful portrayals. Stay warm and cozy. Dianne

  11. Snow days are so much fun, when you don't have to go anywhere or be anywhere or doing anything more than just enjoy the time. Lovely photos and enjoying the seasonal blog banner.

  14. Maria,
I always looked forward to those snow days, too. Although they were few and far between here in Texas. I am glad you got to sip some coffee, watch your sweet birds and listen to some Christmas music!! Have a blessed and fun weekend, sweet friend! Vicki

  15. Teachers love snow days as much, or even more, than the kids do!!! Even tho we homeschooled, whenever the neighbor kids had a snow day, I would declare one for us!
    Love the photo montages!

  17. Maria - The secret is out - teachers enjoy snow days as much as the students! Your photos look very wintery. I love the Cardinal one. Hopefully, you've had a warm and cozy weekend indoors! It's snowing here in Bachelor Gulch - my grandchildren just left for home. We'll enjoy another day before heading back to Breckenridge.

  20. Very creative and well written.
We have snow today, only one inch, but I still love it when it becomes a blizzard and I can't move about, just to enjoy the way you did....
