Reflections of an Autumn Sky

Today,
leaves fell like snow.

This is the weekend for one last look at the flaming colors.

On my late afternoon drive to the market,
I pulled over to take in the view from a local orchard.
As I rested my camera on the roof of my car,
the reflection of the sky in my sunroof became
the new subject of my attention.

Across the way, flocks of bird flew away.

Sometimes we need five minutes in quiet gratitude.
My compliments to the Creator

  3. Wonderful captures of nature's beauty, Maria. It's such a great feeling to take a picture of a certain something and find out, looking through your lens, there is something else oh so pretty you are going to capture in the shot! I took a picture of a rose last week in France, when looking back my pictures (on my laptop) I saw a little animal fellow next to the rose.
Enjoy the last weekend of October, sweet friend. I'll be spending my Saturday with a former colleague in a beautiful city plus catching up over some deliciousness in a cozy restaurant. Much love. xxxx

  4. What beautiful, beautiful pictures.
I cannot imagine 'leaves falling like snow'. Its the downside of being a California city girl - we don't have that magical changing of the leaves, it goes from straight from warm to cool and rainy...

Do you have a special camera ?
I only take pictures in my classroom , playing children is so wonderful . The parents cannot see that and so I take pictures and when they leave kindergarten I make an album ....
Now I'm off cleaning my house ...tuesday will be my birthday . Finally .....
    When is yours ?
    Happy weekend sweet friend

  15. Those are incredible photos Maria! But I expect nothing less from you:-) I ended up putting a wide strip of clear tape on the screen to keep the shattered glass from falling out, and amazingly, the phone works. Definitely looks horrible, though!

  19. I would never have guessed that the reflection was from your sunroof! It's interesting how we interpret what we see. It's a good lesson for me not to rush to judgement. Have a good weekend with your husband, Maria, and enjoy what's left of your foliage.

  21. Really lovely pictures Marie - and I loved your first statement...today, leaves fell like snow. That was the way they fell here last week, and will again this week I'm sure. Not as many fell over the weekend when the weather was so gorgeous but we're supposed to get rain and wind tomorrow so my yard will be covered again. I love looking out and watching them fall though. :) blessings, marlene
