A View of the Land

"Your eyes will see the king in his beauty and view a land that stretches afar."

- Isaiah 33:17

The roots of all goodness lie in the soil of appreciation for goodness.”

-  Dalai Lama

“Storms make trees take deeper roots.”
- Dolly Parton

“Solitary trees, if they grow at all, grow strong.”
-  Winston Churchill

“Trees are Earth's endless effort to speak to the listening heaven.”
- Rabindranath Tagore

The soul that sees beauty may sometimes walk alone.

- Johann von Goethe

"How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,
Nor stand in the seat of scoffers?
But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and night,
And he will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water,
Which yields its fruit in its season;
And its leaf does not wither:
And in whatever he does, he prospers.

- Psalms 1 :1-4

  6. Beautiful photos! ANd what lovely thoughts.
    I love "How blessed is the man who does not walk in the cousel of the wicked,
    Nor stand in the seat of scofffers?
    But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
    And in His law he meditates day and night,
    And he will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water,
    Which yields its fruit in its season;
    And its leaf does not wither:
    And in whatever he does, he prospers.
    Ps 1 :1-4

  9. I love the pictures and that Scripture in Isaiah is perfect.

    It brought to mind several scenes in the Movie "Gladiator", when Maximus would pick up dirt in his hand and smell it... the earth, the soil, it speaks to us of our Creator.

    Thanks for your sweet comments on my 1000 post.

  13. Where have my blogging moments gone! I'm trying to catch up. Thank you for being so faithful! Thanks for the birthday wishes for my daughter. I love to stopping by. The beautiful fall leaves make me homesick for NY. I am taking you up on your movie recommendation too. My husband is out of town for a few days and I could use a good chick flick. Thanks for your encouraging words.

  19. Consider the tree. Is there anything more valuable? Water, but little else.
