a penny for your thoughts

This little penny-size cutie, can hold 2 Gig of storage!
one of my students produced a PowerPoint presentation for the class.
She had it saved to this little penguin flash-drive.

I just marveled at how much it could store in it's tiny little head,
so I quickly took a picture of it with my cellphone.
Then I looked it up on
Look what I found!
More cuties!

This was the computer room at the University at Albany back in the '70's.
My husband, Chris, used to go to computer lab in there.
I remember he used punch cards for his computer programs.
It could address a little more than 2 Gig of storage.

-the same storage as the penny-size flash drive-

This is my son, Jason's new cell phone.
His sunglasses are his background.
J's a funny guy.

It can store up to 32GB of optional memory!
Yesterday, when he chose his new phone, the salesperson at Verizon Wireless
was trying to talk him into the internet service.
She said, "Oh, it's so cheap, only $1 a day,
Everyone can afford an extra dollar a day."
To which Jason replied...
Well, since I must sign a two year contract,
at the end of the two years...that would be an extra.....
"Oh," she said.
{Sales pitch over.}
What times we are living in!
Technology is growing exponentially.
Have you seen the "Did You Know?" presentations?
{produced by Karl Fisch and Scott McLeod}
They are amazing.
I saw the 2.0 version a few years ago, now there is a 4.0 version.
So much changes in just a couple of years!
So much talk everywhere, Facebook, Twitter, Blogs...
Do you Tweet yet?
I only tweet to my little birds in the backyard!
I do love blogging though :D
especially because of
Y O U !
I think I'll make myself a cup o' tea now
and remember
that God doesn't change!

His Love and Spirit are

"Every good and perfect gift is from above,
coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights,
who does not change like shifting shadows."
James 1:17

Giving Thanks and Wishing You Joy,

Oh, yes, technology - I am trying to keep up, but I know I'm actually falling behind. Today's children (my grandchildren) seem so much "smarter" then even their parents were at such a young age. But, some things - faith, love, honor - maybe these things don't (or shouldn't) change as drastically. I'll have tea with you now, Maria. Have you baked anything tasty?

Technology is very amazing! The kids who are growing up knowing how to use all of these gadgets are even more amazing to me!! :)

When I was a sophomore in high school I had a "Data Processing" class. We went on a field trip to a building that looked like your photo above. We made our own data punched card. I think I still have mine stored in a box somewhere. Makes me feel like I am getting OLD...[:o]
Have a beautiful day!

I only tweet to my little birds in the backyard, Maria, I'm smiling ear to ear.
Technology is booming. A few weeks ago we welcomed the Ipad in our home, my little ones are so good with it. They grew into all the new technology things just like that. Easy peasy. Sometimes I wander what their daily life will look like when having children on their own.
These cuties are too adorable, we should all have at least one in our bag!
I'm trying to send you an email, but it keeps coming back. Will keep on trying though.
Much love for a s w e e t Sunday, one whole more day to enjoy before a new great week will start! xxxx
Are you celebrating all weekend long? If so, have a good time! We did a little celebration yesterday, my sister came over with her boyfriend and we have had a fun time! xxxx

I remember the computer lab back in our high school in the 70's. Most of us didn't even know what the heck it was! We've come a long way baby!
Our cable company wanted me to upgrade my cable to make it WAY, faster! It would only cost $10.00 extra a month. I told the woman that I couldn't imagine it being any faster than it is, and I'm not in that big of a hurry!!
Love Di ♥

Greetings my dear,
Oh Maria, you have no idea how "electronically challenged" I am! It is so pathetic...if it weren't for my son and my husband, I would be lost in this technical age we live in...I am so grateful for our unchangeable Father...dearest, we are truly blessed.
Hope you are well as this flu season is upon us. I have had a tenacious cold that I can't seem to shake...soon I hope. Stay well my sweet Rosie

Interesting thoughts. I so often marvel at the speed of change in technology. It's hard to keep up. I just get comfortable with something and it's outdated. Why can't we just be content, is what I'm wondering? I guess, as a teacher, you need to keep up with what students are doing... those little - forgot what they are called - (see?) storage devices are cute.
