Counting the Gifts

Dear God,
~ Thank You ~

The scene outside my father's backyard windows
A soft, sweet doe in the early morning snow
Finding a little protection from the winds on the lee side of a row.

Thank you for
this little bit of summertime on another wintry day

Thank you for
treasured time with my father, sister and niece

For the heart of a little niece who shares her Valentine creations

~ Thank You ~

There are gifts all around us.
Let's spend each moment with eyes wide open to all His gifts.
There's nothing like the JOY from a heart filled with gratitude.

Giving Thanks with Ann Voskamp at A Holy Experience

  1. What beautiful pictures to say "Thank you for the gifts"...

You and your sister are darling.

Love that first picture...just precious, and causes me to lift my heart to the Heavenly Father and thank him for all the gifts in my life. You are one of them.

  7. Hey dear Maria,
I see you are reading Ann's book--I purchased it on my Kindle before it came out in book form--I didn't get to enjoy the rich beauty of the book itself but enjoyed it anyway. I love your niece's craft work. So cute!

Our weather has been gorgeous for the past week--low 70's and sunshine--we had some sprinkles and clouds today but it was still in the high 60's I think.

But we were reminded by the meteorologist the other day that "winter is not over." There is still cold air way up there in northern Canada that will eventually make its way down here.

But we do have quite a few things budding out--the jonquils among them--spirea is not far behind--

Yes, I know you love your students as I loved mine!

The Renewal Ranch guys are kinda taking their place now. I had forgotten how much I loved teaching.

    Be blessed,
    love,
    †Dianne

  10. Wow the deer is precious, so glad you captured that shot! I just told my husband recently that when I get to heaven I'm going to play with all the animals that we can't play with here! You know, like ride bareback on a giraffe! Ha! What a beautiful gratitude list. Thanks for sharing!

  11. Oh Maria,
Yes, Yes, Yes. We have so VERY much to be grateful for. All we need to do, is sit "still" for a few precious moments and ponder the simple blessings of day to day life. Our God is so BIG, and yet takes the time to show us this beautiful creature right outside YOUR window. ..ahhhhh...smile...thanks for sharing this with us all...xoxo...Rosie
