Get Warm {Hug a Mug}

 This Friday,  it was blustery and cold,
so we warmed up at our local Coffee Café.

 *
. . . Today . . .
. . . as I drove home from work . . .
I could almost hear
the STOP sign howl at the 30 mph wintry winds.
...STOP...

{at Dunkin' Donuts!}
luckily
I had my steaming hot French Vanilla Latte to hold
{an even better treat for .99}
and my fleecy car blanket on my lap
*
It's amazing how a hot cuppa coffee can turn a blustery day around!

  2. I'm trying not to listen to the siren song of coffee, but on a really cold day, there is nothing quite as satisfying! Looks blustery there, Maria. Keep warm.

  3. Cold outside, warm inside. Holding that cuppa vanilla latte makes my mouth water.

    You are the second blog I've read today that mentioned "Blustery Day"

    So reminds of the Winnie the Pooh book called "The Blustery Day"

    Recently I was reading one of my old journals and was reminded of a Blustery Day. When my daughter Jill was in 1st grade (she turned 40 this year)I wrote this is my journal: "Today just Jill and me went to the Mall. We had lunch and I bought her Winnie the Pooh The Blustery Day. I called her "Saucy" she called me "ChaCha La" ~~ We hugged and said it was the best day ever."

    Jill would always make up silly names for us, and we had so much fun calling each other by them. What a memory. Jill still has the book.

  7. This post is a bit ironic to me today. When I woke up this morning and went to turn on my coffee maker, I discovered that it had met it's demise!! :(
    It was the last gift from my mother. So it's coffee maker shopping for me today!! Enjoy your coffee!
    Love Di ♥

  10. Here I am again, this afternoon I typed my comment three times but it disappeared every time. Will copy first before clicking the button... Anyway, I can almost feel the NY chilliness over here. Such a cozy cup of comfort is a warm welcome on a day like that. Love love your 'mug a hug', it's a keeper! These little pink snowflakes among the last sentence are very cute, dearest Maria.
    I read the Lori's comment. Next Saturday, my former collegue and I will take the early morning train (the Thalys) to Paris. It will take us there in 2 and a half hours. We will talk talk talk, walk, do a little bit of shopping, have a lovely lunch, walk, talk talk talk.
    Lori and I will have a little meet and greet, I'm excited! We haven't talked about a place or time yet, must do so very soon. Perhaps we should carry a flower or something so we can recognize each other, tee hee. I'll bring a stroopwafel, the typical dutch cookie for Lori, I did sent one to you too, it must arrive at your doorstep very soon now.
    Let's hug another mug to stay warm, sweet sweet Maria. Lots of L O V E xxx and some more xxx

  11. We have had one of those cold blustery days here in Texas too Maria. The temperature has dropped into the 29's, the wind is howling, and a hot cup of tea is just the thing!

  15. These pictures warm my heart!!! It is amazing how coffee can warm the body up a notch. Our daughter works at Starbuck's. That is pure joy too! :)

    Have a warm and cozy day. Drive safely in all of that snow. I have never driven in snow, it looks kind of scary if you ask me!

  16. Beautiful post. As I walked outside today...I could see the snow blowing on the of our Mountain Peaks. It was so amazing...and just the a touch of coffee any time makes a perfect end to any road excursion.

  17. Oh that looks so good. I love those little hearts that are appearing in your photos!

    I just saw that we are supposed to have a day or two of 50 degree weather next week. Since we still have a couple inches of solid ice on everything around here...it is hard to imagine, but we can hope!
