The first thing my husband and I noticed when we walked through the beach entrance at Otsego Lake ~ Glimmerglass State Park in New York...
was the flock of seagulls alighted on the rooftop.

A Sky Watch Friday Dream!
The price I paid... I will not show you ...
The camera was temporarily unavailable since Maria was in the ladies' room cleaning it up!
Leave it to say, my husband and I were very lucky that our hair and clothes did not need washing, but I'll never look at my camera strap again without remembering this picture!
Quote from husband: "It sounded like rain!"
Well Maria let me be the first to thank you and your husband for your sacrifice to all of us for the wonderful photos!
ReplyDeleteYour husbands comment was priceless!
Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI remember when the kids were much younger and we were on the small balcony of a hotel in Traverse City...our daughter Avery, who had to be about 9 years old, reached out and grabbed one of the seagulls from the balcony edge! AAGGHH! I think my screams were scarier than the seagull! She quickly let him go!
i would surely take a pix too...lovely birds and a nice cloudy sky...thanks for the visit and the kind reminder about candles....
ReplyDeleteNew York? one of the places I dream to visit! have a nice day!..
Maria, what great pictures! Too funny about the strap though! -Cathy
ReplyDeleteMaria, I did chuckle when I read about the camera but I loved the pictures. Have a wonderful day.....:-) Hugs
ReplyDeleteYa gotta love gulls. We stopped at a beach while in Seattle, and the gulls came out of nowhere when a kid walking the strand pulled out a bag of potatoe chips...
ReplyDeleteOh, Maria, I did get a laugh about the camera and clothes and your husbands comment is priceless! That being said, your captures are fantastic. And, yes, you gotta love the seagulls -- EcoRover tells it all about Seattle and we do have more than our share of seagulls everywhere!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend! Be careful when you look up -- you might have to change the saying "here's mud in your eye"!

I don't think I have ever seen so many gulls in the sky at once. Wonderful photos...
ReplyDeleteYou were very lucky to be able to capture the sea gulls like this. I am sorry you had to go through all the mess, but it made a great Sky Watch Friday post.
ReplyDeleteGreat sequence of photos. I'm not sure I would have had the stomach to stand there to take that last one.
ReplyDeleteGreat captures. How amazing.
ReplyDeleteThe birds...the birds. Reminds me of a scary movie scene.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots of these gulls, and beautiful skies also. Your husband summed things up nicely...
ReplyDeleteI think I would take up Macro photograph after that experience.
ReplyDeleteWith all those birds, I knew it had to happen! Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh dear Maria - "like rain". However, the pictures are amazing. Thank you for your dedication :-)
ReplyDeleteOh my...I would have been a victim too...now I will know better...A hummingbird once left a present on me!
ReplyDeleteBlogger is not letting me know when you post!
Ohhhh! Beautiful photo - glad you braved the "bombs" to get it!
