Add Some Color

We had a little break from gray skies.
...with two days of sunshine this weekend...

But with cloudy skies returning,
I took some advice
from some of
you
my friends
and bought some
flowers.

I added my grandmother's dishes
full of color
beautiful splashes of
color

Making the
kaleidoscope
change designs and colors
even though the forecast is gray.

Our forecast for January 25
A FLOOD WATCH remains in effect for all of eastern New York and western New England through Monday evening.  Rain will develop this evening and continue into tomorrow afternoon. Rain will fall heavily at times, especially later tonight and through tomorrow morning.  A rainfall of 1" - 2" is possible in many areas with localized amounts of up to 3" also possible.

Thank you for the sweet hints to buy flowers
and for Dianne's reminder of this beautiful
verse of scripture:
For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.
2 Corinthians 4:6

Blessings for a Joyful Week dear 's

  1. Sometimes small changes reap large benefits. Your lovely flowers and table setting bring a smile to my face, Maria. Though the weather outside may be gloomy, inside it's very welcoming and cozy! Have a good school week. Stay dry!

  7. I'm still waiting for the sun here in NE Indiana. Someone told me they saw it briefly a couple of mornings ago, but I must have had my head in the laundry pile!

Maria, you have really developed your photography skills! I like the way you let the color unfold in the pictures of your beautiful flowers!

  9. Hi everyone! Thanks for visiting :D
All rain today ~ creeks are gushing!
    No floods as of yet.
So glad I can gaze at my tulips ;o)

    Amanda~ I used Picasa...
    after you open a picture
go to "effects" → focal B&W
Bring the green cross to where you want color and then used the slide controls to intensify & size of color area. Love you sweetie ♥

  10. Such cheery photos, Maria!
We lost most of our snow this past week with temps in the upper 30's, but this is Michigan, and more is on the way this week!

(thanks for the sweet note of encouragement...what a blessing to find that in my mailbox!)

  11. It does help doesn't it? We are snowing again...didn't see the sun all weekend. My tulips from last week are shedding quickly, but I won't throw them away until I can replace them!

How did you do that with the photo...I love that pop of color.

  13. Hey Maria, I absolutely love this post--the pictures of the tulips are really unique--can you tell me what program you used to accomplish that? In fact, you might write a post and fill all of us in on how to do that--smile!

Concerning the new picture on my blog header---my husband took that yesterday morning and I had to swallow a lot of pride to put it up there--I had a bunch of new wrinkles that I didn't have even four months ago--but thanks for your kind words--

Next time I'm close to Kroger or Walmart, I am going to run in and buy me some flowers--what a great idea for this time of year although we have had lots of sunshine the past couple of days!

Just to let you know--I never did receive the email that you said you were sending last night--oh, I just now thought--you might have sent it to EverythingElse and I haven't checked that one today--I'll go do that right now.

And yes somewhere along the way you had mentioned that your daughter is getting married this summer. Hope you can lose those few lbs that you want to. I bet you do. Will she get married in your church?

    Have a wonderful week! Dianne
